I started this brief demo in 2022 after finishing 風. Found it in a pile of old demos while trying to back up my work in 2025, and finished it in february. Probably my most signature distortion sound. One of my friends asked me if my speaker was broken.
Started it in 2023, but didn’t have the courage to finish it until 2025, when its submission deadline had passed by probably over a month. I had over 30 different versions of this song and played it god knows how many times. The chord progression was probably on its 11th version. There are three flaws I left in the song on purpose so I have something to fixate on, and I could be satisfied with the rest. Bit pathetic, if you ask me.
A collaboration edit on my previous track ‘just take me with you’. Got rid of the vocals that drove some of my friends insane and focused mainly on amplifying the impact of the drop and conveying the emotion of xxhyz’s visuals. Theme was also fire: fish migrating.

I started producing around 2019. As a teenage kid, I loved listening to Puppet, Jaron, and Porter Robinson, and found my passion for synths and distortion. I was lucky enough to be discovered by people who appreciated my creations and gave my musical identity meaning. Over the years, my disorganized and procrastinating self grew reliant on a faint hope for moments of revelation, though they did not come nearly as often as the countless frustrating nights of build, delete, and repeat. At some point, I decided it was time to stop and reorient my attention toward friends, loved ones, and other things that give my life meaning. The d7 project, to me, is goals unfulfilled, expectations unmet, and a trauma factory of self-criticism. But I know it is something more, at least to my mentors, my closest friends, and those who have supported me and given me countless reasons to keep going. I therefore do not regret, for a single moment, everything I have done and sacrificed for him. I am, however, sorry for the people I have hurt, disappointed, and lost along the way.
